Accurate traceability of subcontracted items is crucial for maintaining inventory integrity and ensuring that all component receipts are properly documented.

The Subcontracted Components Recording Tag feature introduces a clear “RECORDED” indicator on each receipt line of a subcontracted product once its components have been manually recorded.

By surfacing this tag directly in the Inventory Receipts interface, warehouse and operations teams can instantly see which lines have had their components logged—especially helpful when receiving large quantities of subcontracted goods in a single transfer.

This enhancement streamlines the subcontracting workflow by embedding component-level status directly into the receipt view, reducing errors, preventing missed recordings, and providing real-time visibility into receipt completion.

Functionality at a glance:
  • Displays a prominent “RECORDED” tag on any subcontracted receipt line after manual component logging via the burger icon.
  • Updates dynamically for each line, even when receiving multiple units of the same subcontracted product in one transfer.
  • Improves on-screen traceability without navigating away from the receipt form.
  • Seamlessly integrates with Odoo Inventory’s subcontracting process, preserving existing transfer workflows.
  • Helps prevent oversight by clearly distinguishing lines with completed component recordings.
Example Use Case:

A manufacturer receives 15 units of a subcontracted assembly in one inbound transfer. Warehouse staff click the burger icon on line 1, record its five components, and upon submission, see a “RECORDED” tag appear next to that line.

They then proceed through lines 2–15, each time confirming components and watching the tag appear—ensuring every assembly’s components are accounted for before moving stock into production.

In summary, the Subcontracted Components Recording Tag feature elevates subcontracting traceability by highlighting completed component recordings directly within the Inventory Receipts interface, reducing errors and boosting operational clarity.
