The Family Tree Management feature enables organizations to offer a truly flexible and user-friendly experience for managing family memberships.
This solution is deeply integrated with the Membership and Contact modules, allowing both portal users and internal staff to create, visualize, and manage a family tree structure.
Key Functionalities
Automatic Tree Generation
When a user purchases a Family Membership from the website or POS and defines initial members during checkout, a Family Tree is automatically created based on those members.
Portal Access & Management
After purchase, the user can access a dedicated “Family Tree” menu in their portal. From here, they can:
- View the existing family tree
- Add new members to the family
- Define or update relationships (e.g., Father, Daughter, etc.)
- Rearrange or redesign the tree interface
As members are added through the portal family tree, they are automatically linked to the Family Membership. The system allows unlimited members, ensuring flexibility for large or extended families.
Role-Based Access Control:
Only the assigned Billing Contact or Family Manager can add or remove members from the Family Membership. Child or dependent contacts do not have permission to make any changes. These roles may be assigned to the same individual or split between two contacts, ensuring secure and structured control over membership management.
Backend Family Tree Creation
Internal users (staff) can also:
- Create new family trees manually from the Contact or Membership modules
- Add or remove members
- Define relationship types between members
- Sync those changes directly to the Family Membership list
Visual Hierarchy View
Both portal and backend users experience the family tree in a dynamic, hierarchical format, enhancing clarity and visual understanding of relationships across generations.
No Member Limits
There is no restriction on the number of family members that can be linked to a family membership. This makes the feature ideal for community memberships, large family groups, or multigenerational household memberships.
