To improve event visibility and navigation, this SME adds a new interactive calendar view to the Events page on the website. The calendar will display one month at a time and showcase all scheduled events for that period in a clear, user-friendly format.
Each event will be associated with an Event Umbrella, a backend selection field that categorizes the event type (e.g., Woodworking, Fitness, Art). Events will be color-coded based on these umbrella categories, making it easy for users to visually distinguish event types at a glance.
Key functionalities include:
- Calendar Navigation: Users can scroll forward to future months or backward to see events from past months.
- Color Coding: Events appear with colors mapped from the Event Umbrella category selected in the backend.
- Clickable Events: Clicking on an event redirects the user to the event’s detail page, where they can view information and register.
- Universal Access: The calendar is available to all users — public visitors, portal users, guests, and members — ensuring a consistent experience regardless of login status.
