Odoo 20 Makes Blogging Much Better for Businesses That Actually Use Content
Publishing a blog is easy.
Getting someone to find it, read it, finish it, and then read something else is the harder part.
That is where some of the smaller changes in Odoo 20's Blog start to become interesting.
Odoo has improved the experience on both sides: for the person managing the website and, more importantly, for the person actually reading it.
Long articles are easier to navigate
One of my favorite additions is the new “On this page” navigation inside a blog post.
For a long article with multiple sections, readers can see where they are and move between sections instead of endlessly scrolling.
It sounds small.
But if you are publishing guides, technical articles, product education, or other long-form content, navigation is part of readability.
A useful article should not feel like work to read.

You can decide what the reader should read next
Odoo 20 also lets you place a recommended article at the bottom of a blog post.
From the website editor, you can select the post you want to recommend and Odoo presents it to the reader when they reach the end.
I really like this for businesses publishing content in a series.
Your first article does not have to be a dead end.
If someone has just spent five minutes reading about one subject, you can give them the most logical place to go next instead of hoping they return to the main blog and find it themselves.
That creates an actual reading journey across your content.

The main blog page has received attention too
Odoo 20 gives you more control over how the blog homepage presents content.
You can highlight the latest article, change the presentation style, display teasers and tags, show the author and date, and surface statistics such as views and comments.
The result is a blog that feels easier to browse rather than simply being an archive of everything you have published.
Odoo's website tools also let businesses manage content directly through the visual editor, while the Blog product includes categories, tags, social sharing, subscriptions and integrated traffic measurement.

And this matters more than the design
The interesting part for me isn't that the blog looks nicer.
It is what these changes can do for businesses that rely on content.
If someone arrives from Google on one of your articles, that article should not be the end of their visit.
Help them navigate the article.
Help them find the next relevant piece.
Make your library easier to browse.
Give interested readers a way to follow future content.
And understand which content people are actually reading.
Odoo already provides built-in tools intended to help optimize content for search and measure traffic, while its documentation recommends practices such as maintaining useful metadata and a clear heading structure for SEO.
That makes these Odoo 20 changes particularly useful for companies using their website as an actual source of inbound traffic rather than an online brochure.
A better blog doesn't end at Publish
That is probably my biggest takeaway from the Odoo 20 Blog changes.
For years, businesses have put enormous effort into producing an article and very little thought into what happens after somebody lands on it.
Odoo 20 gives you more tools to change that.
And if content is an important part of how people discover your business, that is an Odoo 20 update worth paying attention to.
