Managing subscription expirations effectively is key to customer satisfaction and retention. In standard Odoo, expiration follow-up emails are sometimes sent to customers who still have an active subscription, creating confusion and unnecessary contact.
The Send Subscription Alert of Expiry feature improves this workflow by refining the follow-up email logic to account for multiple subscriptions. Instead of sending alerts for any expired subscription, the system checks whether the customer still has at least one active subscription. Alerts are only sent if all subscriptions have expired, ensuring that communication is accurate and meaningful.
Key Benefits
- Avoids False Alerts – Customers with active subscriptions will no longer receive irrelevant expiration emails.
- Smarter Communication – Follow-up emails are sent only when no active memberships remain.
- Improved Customer Experience – Prevents confusion and unnecessary support requests.
- Supports Multiple Subscriptions – Works seamlessly even when customers hold multiple concurrent memberships.
User Workflow
- A customer with multiple subscriptions reaches the expiration date for one of them.
- The system checks if any other subscription for that customer is still active.
- If at least one active subscription exists → No expiration email is sent.
- If no active subscriptions remain → Follow-up emails are triggered based on the defined intervals.
- Customers receive timely alerts only when they truly need to renew or re-subscribe.
