Managing deliveries efficiently and transparently is critical for smooth warehouse operations and customer satisfaction. This feature introduces two key enhancements to the Odoo delivery process:

Now, customer-specific instructions or comments can be attached directly to delivery orders (transfers). These comments provide essential details for the warehouse team during the fulfillment process, such as:

  • Special handling instructions
  • Preferred delivery times
  • Custom packaging notes

Benefits:

  • Improves clarity between sales and warehouse teams
  • Reduces fulfillment errors
  • Enhances customer experience

Delivery Hold Functionality

To further strengthen control over fulfillment, this feature introduces a "Delivery Hold" capability. Users can place any transfer on hold, preventing it from being validated until manually released.

How It Works:

  • A new field on the transfer record allows setting the delivery status to “On Hold.”
  • If a transfer is on hold, the "Validate" button becomes inactive.
  • Only authorized users or a designated workflow can release the hold.

Use Cases:

  • Awaiting final payment before shipping
  • Pending quality clearance or management approval
  • Temporary stock unavailability
