The Highlight To Produce Quantity module for Manufacturing enhances the visibility of key production metrics within Odoo’s manufacturing workflows. Specifically, this feature visually emphasizes the “To Produce” quantity on Manufacturing Orders (MOs) when the value exceeds 1, helping planners and shop floor operators instantly identify large production batches.

In busy production environments where operators manage numerous orders daily, it's easy to overlook high-quantity MOs. This module solves that problem by applying customizable styling—such as larger font size and color highlights—to the "To Produce" quantity field when applicable. These visual cues make it easier for users to prioritize and plan production activities accurately.

Administrators can enable and configure this feature directly from Settings > SME, with flexible options including:

  • Activating or disabling font resizing for the "To Produce" quantity
  • Setting a specific font size (in pixels)
  • Activating or disabling color highlights
  • Choosing a custom color for the highlight

This enhancement is fully compatible with both the traditional Manufacturing Order form and the Shop Floor interface, ensuring that the visual indicators are present at all key stages of production review.

Functionality at a Glance

  • Dynamically highlights the “To Produce” quantity if it’s greater than 1.
  • Supports font size and color customization for better visual emphasis.
  • Configuration options are centralized in SME settings.
  • Applies consistently across both Manufacturing Orders and Shop Floor views.
  • Improves visibility and reduces risk of underproduction due to misreading.

Use Case Example:

A furniture manufacturer processes hundreds of orders weekly, with varying production sizes. By enabling this module, their floor supervisors can immediately spot orders that require bulk production (e.g., 25 desks instead of 1 chair). The visual emphasis helps in quickly prioritizing these large orders, avoiding delays or misallocations.

In summary, the Highlight To Produce Quantity module makes high-volume Manufacturing Orders stand out—literally. By offering configurable font and color styling, it empowers production teams to better manage workload, improve focus, and avoid costly oversights in high-paced manufacturing environments.
