The Dynamic Quantity Color Coding module is designed to enhance visibility and responsiveness in the sales order process by applying intuitive, visual cues to quantity values in the sales order lines. This feature enables users to set customizable thresholds and apply corresponding color-coded decorations directly to the Quantity field in the tree view of the sales order lines. These color indicators make it easy for sales teams and back-office staff to quickly spot unusually high or low quantities, helping prevent errors and improving decision-making.
How It Works
Once the module is installed, navigate to Settings and search for the “Dynamic Quantity Color Coding” feature under the SME settings. Here, you can configure quantity thresholds and assign visual styles such as warning, danger, or success, which translate into distinct color highlights on the screen (e.g., orange, red, green).
For example:
- You might configure a danger style (e.g., red) for quantities over 500 units, signaling an unusually large order that may require validation or managerial review.
- A warning style (e.g., orange) could be used for moderate thresholds, such as 100–500 units.
- A success style (e.g., green) may be applied for optimal or standard quantities under 100.
Key Benefits
- Visual Alerts: Highlights exceptional values, preventing overlooked data anomalies.
- Flexible Thresholds: Define thresholds that match your business logic or operational norms.
- Improved Workflow Efficiency: Sales staff can react faster to unusual quantities, reducing rework and customer dissatisfaction.
- Better Communication: Managers and teams are aligned on what constitutes a "normal" or "abnormal" order volume at a glance.
This feature adds a subtle but powerful layer of validation and visibility to the standard Odoo workflow, making your sales process more robust and user-friendly without requiring complex custom code or manual review of every order.
