Odoo 14 Phasing Out: What Happens After October 31, 2026?

Odoo 14 is being phased out of Odoo.sh on October 31, 2026. If your business is still running Odoo 14 on Odoo.sh, you need to act before that date.

This is not another routine end-of-support announcement. Odoo has confirmed that databases still running a phased-out version on Odoo.sh will be permanently blocked, with no exceptions.

That means businesses still using Odoo 14 on Odoo.sh will no longer be able to access their running database normally after the deadline. If your sales, accounting, inventory, manufacturing, or other daily operations depend on that database, the consequences are serious.

According to Odoo's official phaseout policy, the project and upgrade tools will remain accessible after the deadline. However, that does not mean your existing Odoo 14 database can continue operating on Odoo.sh.

The deadline is October 31, 2026. Not when your business is ready. Not when your next budget is approved.

What About Odoo 15?

Odoo 15 is next.

Odoo 15 will be phased out of Odoo.sh on October 31, 2027.

Businesses running Odoo 15 have more time, but the same rule applies. Once the version reaches its phaseout date, databases still running that version on Odoo.sh will be blocked.

Odoo 14 and Odoo 15 have also passed their standard support periods. Odoo provides standard support for its three most recent major versions, while older versions are subject to extended support conditions.

It is important to understand that these Odoo.sh phaseout dates do not mean every self-hosted Odoo 14 or 15 installation will automatically stop working. Businesses using on-premise hosting need to assess their own support, security, maintenance, and upgrade requirements separately.

You can review the distinction in Odoo's supported versions documentation.

Why You Should Start Your Odoo Upgrade Now

The problem for many businesses is not deciding whether to upgrade. It is dealing with everything that has accumulated inside their Odoo database.

Years of customizations, third-party applications, integrations, modified workflows, and undocumented changes can make an Odoo upgrade more complicated than expected.

And none of those problems disappear because the deadline is approaching.

Before upgrading, businesses need to know which customizations are still necessary, which integrations need updating, whether accounting and inventory data will migrate correctly, and whether critical business processes will work in the new version.

An Odoo upgrade should not mean copying every old problem into a newer version.

Some customizations that were necessary in Odoo 14 or 15 may now be handled by standard functionality in newer versions. Others may need to be updated or rebuilt. Some may no longer serve a useful purpose.

This is also an opportunity to improve how your business operates in Odoo. Newer versions offer improvements across accounting, inventory, manufacturing, automation, and everyday workflows.

The goal should be to leave the old version with a better system, not simply the same system with a different version number.

At Silverdale, we begin Odoo upgrades by reviewing the existing database, customizations, integrations, and business processes. We identify what needs to move, what can be replaced, and what should be left behind.

We then prepare and test the upgraded environment before the production cutover. The final cutover is planned around business operations, typically over a weekend, to minimize interruption to normal work.
